Playlearn Light Up Sensory Floor Tile Kit – 4 Sensory Light Tiles with Surround

A complete sensory light floor that changes with every movement

One step and the colours start to move. Take another step and the pattern looks completely different again. The Playlearn Light Up Sensory Floor Tile Kit turns part of the floor into an interactive sensory space where light, colour and movement come together.

The complete set contains four illuminated liquid floor tiles, a matching protective surround and an adapter. Each tile is filled with coloured liquid gel. Step, press or move across a tile and the gel shifts beneath you, creating new patterns every time.

There is no complicated activity to explain. A little pressure or movement is all it takes to create an immediate visual response.

Step, roll, press and watch what happens

The sensory tiles respond to pressure. That could be a footstep, but also a hand, knee or the wheel of a wheelchair.

This means the tiles can be explored in many different ways. Walk from one colour to another, jump onto a tile, press the surface with your hands or watch the patterns change as a wheelchair moves across them.

This immediate response creates a very clear experience of cause and effect: you move and the liquid moves with you.

With four different colours in the set, there is plenty of visual variety too. Together, the tiles create an illuminated sensory area where there is always something new to see.

Sensory exploration using the whole body

This floor set is about more than looking. It is the combination of visual effects and physical movement that makes it particularly interesting.

Walking, stepping and shifting body weight can engage gross motor skills, balance, body awareness and movement coordination. At the same time, the moving gel patterns provide a direct visual response to each movement.

Explore a tile with your hands and the experience changes again. Pressing, touching and moving the liquid beneath the surface also brings tactile perception and hand motor skills into play.

Not everyone needs to use the tiles in the same way. Some users may enjoy moving and experimenting, while others may be more interested in watching the light, colours and changing patterns.

Accessible for wheelchair users too

Where possible, a sensory experience should be accessible in different ways. These robust tiles are designed to withstand the weight of a wheelchair.

As the wheels move across the tiles, the pressure creates the same immediate visual response: the gel moves and the patterns change.

The tiles are not limited to floor-based exploration either. They can also be placed on a suitable flat surface, allowing the movement and colours to be explored with the hands.

This makes the set an interesting addition to sensory rooms, multisensory spaces, schools, day services, care and support settings, as well as a dedicated sensory space at home.

Step from blue to green and then continue to red or orange. Create your own route, place your feet on two different colours or stay on one tile and watch how the liquid slowly moves again.

With the included surround, the four tiles form one clearly defined sensory area. A space that invites you to approach, move, look and discover what happens for yourself.

Frequently asked questions about the Light Up Sensory Floor Tile Kit

What happens when you step on the tiles?

Pressure causes the liquid gel inside the tile to move. This immediately creates changing patterns, so every step or pressing movement produces a visible response.

How many tiles are included in the set?

The set contains four illuminated liquid tiles in different colours. A matching surround and adapter are also included.

Can the tiles support a wheelchair?

Yes. The tiles are designed for intensive use and can also be explored with a wheelchair. The pressure from the wheels causes the liquid to move and creates a visible response.

Do you have to walk on the tiles?

No. You can walk or stand on them, but the tiles respond to pressure in general. They can therefore also be explored with the hands and can be placed on a suitable flat surface.

Which developmental areas are engaged?

Moving across the tiles can engage gross motor skills, movement coordination and body awareness. The changing patterns engage visual perception and attention, while the immediate response provides a clear experience of cause and effect.

Is an adapter included?

Yes. This complete set includes an interchangeable UK/EU adapter.
